Back to Study

I have been developing my art practice since 2022, but I felt the need to receive feedback and guidance. So, I attended drop-in classes and short courses, but I felt I needed more structure.

Early this year, I enrolled in an illustration course, considering applying my craft to commercial work. I enjoyed bouncing ideas, getting feedback, and discussing with my classmates. I came up with a book cover that won a prize. I wanted to continue studying, and the next level was the art foundation diploma. I was unsure of spending almost one year studying, but I saw this as the time to explore and develop practice, so I enrolled.

I feel a bit weird surrounded by teenagers, primarily in the class, but I'm embracing this experience. We only live once, and I love this new experience.

I just finished the first six weeks of the course, and the photo is the last collaboration work with my classmates. We created it based on a circus theme and could only spend three hours from the initial discussion. We simplified the design to complete it within the given time and split the tasks across us to produce parts in parallel.

When the switch was finally on, the circus scene was illuminated in the dark, and excitement and joy lit up my heart.
